-
- here's a little more info for u - the 1st followup is a very good
- guide Imo. (oops its a little long)
-
- [much cutting done]

- : >interesting me. The thing is, I don't have any idea what
- : >hardware I should get to get started. A1200? 2000? 3000? 4000?

- : >want a computer superior to my current PC which won't become
- : >outdated immediately (or isn't already outdated).
-
- : Others worth a try are Amiga Shopper (no games!)
-
- ami shoppers a good mag, loads of reviews and toys of all sizes
- and costs. i find the only problem with some, is if the mag is not made on
- your contenent u may not be able to get all the stuff easily, or have any
- idea what the price in your coinage is.
-
- : As for an Amiga. ONLY go for an A1200 or A4000.
-
- most definately A500/A2000 is outdated - btw compared to ibm
- amiga has extremly long generation spans so your computer will probably
- be good longer (i still uses A2000 from the early 90's and only have a
- little trouble) but go for the 1200/4000
-
- as for the difference between the two the 4000 is like a ibm/mac
- in DESIGN - key board , big box, montior sits on the box. the 1200 is a
- keyboard with a drive in it and expansion slot for a hard disk / cd player
-
- (someone correct me if im wrong i'm looking at old mags and they
- might have changed style a bit)
-
- the only problem with the 1200 is no more typing with the
- keyboard on the lap. and with the 4000 if you don't put something in it -
- disk drive, cd rom, a card of sorts you have a big empty box.
-
- as for what u need: about 4 megs of ram (you DON'T need 16/36 like
- an your ibm has most likley), most people like a hard drive (get one of
- fair size), i'd also sugest a stereo montitor (unless youve got a sterio
- with a corresponding line in)
-
- just a quick outline, its been along time
- since ive gone computer shoping but
- there's some basics.
